Babysitter? Me!!

I just came back from the meeting I had with the children I am going to babysit this Friday (and by the looks of it, in the future as well). Because I've been talking in English this entire evening, I'mma gonna write in English as well.

Oh my God, they were on a roll! XD They were so excited they were pretty much rolling on the floor, jumping around all over the (enormously large) apartment.

And yes...they speak better English then I do, although I think that I managed to get along pretty well.

Their 4-year old seemed a little apprehensive at me being there to watch them on Friday, but I got a hug at the end so I think he's Ok with it.

Artemis though...she was just about the sweetest thing ever! Gosh, I get happy even thinking about her. She's definitely one of those kids that can just charm the pants off you. I am not really sure of what she's saying all the time (British English mixed with general Baby-talk), but according to her mother, they (her parents) do not know what she's talking about either. She talks a lot though...

Also got many complements on my English; "I knew your mother said you spoke good English but I never understood that it was this good!", which made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. Compliments are nice, especially when it comes to English, a subject I am sure that I can master, and when it comes from a native speaker.

I am also getting paid about 10 kronor/hour more then I expected, so I'm a happy camper!

The parents and children were really, really nice, and seemed relieved and happy at having me there for "tea" (Did you know that in some parts of England, "dinner" is actually called "tea"? And "Lunch" is referred to as "Dinner"?). I was happy to both get a chance of practicing my English as well as the job offer itself. The kids are really sweet and I think this'll be fun!

*sigh* I really love children, even though I've always seemed indifferent to them. Could definitely see myself doing volontary work at an orphanage sometime in the future. hmmm. Maybe in the Philippines? Or Thailand? Definitely a possibility.

Now...back to the text books and work applications!
